Responsibilities:

• Record all deeds, mortgages, releases, Probate Court certificates, survey maps and other documents involving real estate.
• Maintain permanent minutes for town meetings and elections.

• Issue sportsman, bird and waterfowl licenses. Fee schedule.
• Serves as election administrator (perfects the list of offices and candidates, prints all election and referendum material, issues and receives absentee ballots, records election results, maintains election and campaign finance records).
• Administers the oath of office.
• Accepts resignations of local government officials and files them with the Secretary of State’s office.
• Serves as Registrar of Vital Statistics (records births, marriages and deaths and issues certified copies).
• Notary Public

Additional information:
Dog licenses: Licenses are renewed in June of each year. Puppies require a license at 6 months. Please bring /mail an up-to-date dog’s rabies certificate in order to obtain a license. If your pet is spayed/neutered, we must see verification from your veterinarian. The license is valid from July 1 through June 30 of the following year.

Marriage license is to be obtained in the town of marriage. The fee is $30.

Vital Records: The cost of a certified copy of a birth, marriage or death certificate is $20.
